Hello---I happened to find this spot when looking for information on "Konnert" My grandfather, George Konnert, left Hermannstadt (I previously said Siebenbuergen-and that, of course is wrong) in 1902 for America and settled in Salem, Ohio. Maria Hoprich followed him in 1904 to Salem. They were married in 1905. If you have more information about family still in Hermannstadt, please let me know. My German is very rusty, tho.
